How Color Harmonies Work
Analogous
Colors adjacent on the color wheel. Offsets are evenly distributed within a 60° range around the base hue. Creates a cohesive, calming feel.
Complementary
Uses the base color and its opposite at 180° on the wheel. Additional colors fill the gap with balanced shifts. Produces high contrast and energy.
Triadic
Three colors spaced 120° apart on the wheel. Extra colors interpolate between the triad points. Vibrant and balanced.
Split-Complementary
Uses the base color plus two colors at 150° and 210° from it. Less tension than complementary while retaining contrast.
Monochromatic
Variations of a single hue by adjusting saturation and lightness. Creates elegant, unified designs.

What Is a Color Palette Generator?
A color palette generator is a design tool that creates harmonious sets of colors based on color theory principles. It takes a single base color and applies mathematical relationships from the color wheel to produce balanced, visually appealing combinations.
Designers, developers, and content creators use color palettes to ensure consistency across websites, applications, marketing materials, and branding assets. Instead of manually selecting colors and hoping they work together, a palette generator applies proven harmony rules automatically.
This tool supports five major harmony types and provides color values in HEX, RGB, and HSL formats. Every calculation happens directly in your browser, so your color choices remain private and the tool works without an internet connection after loading.
