Step 1 — Calculate Pure Alcohol

Multiply the number of drinks by volume per drink in ml, then multiply by ABV divided by 100, then multiply by 0.789. This gives you the grams of pure ethanol consumed. For example, 3 beers of 350 ml at 5% ABV = 3 × 350 × 0.05 × 0.789 = 41.42 grams of pure alcohol.

Step 2 — Apply Widmark Equation

Divide the grams of alcohol by body weight in grams multiplied by the r-constant. For a 70 kg male: 70 × 1000 × 0.68 = 47,600. Then 41.42 ÷ 47,600 × 100 = 0.087% BAC at peak (before metabolism).
