How It Works
The Smart Image Cropper Pro runs entirely in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. No images are ever sent to a server. Here's the processing pipeline:
1. File Loading â Images are read via the FileReader API as data URLs. Thumbnails are generated immediately for the queue panel.
2. Transform Stage â If you rotate or flip, a temporary canvas applies the transformation matrix and produces a new image object that the crop operates on.
3. Unit Conversion â All dimension inputs (mm, cm, in) are converted to pixels via toPx(val) = val à DPI / unitFactor before the crop is applied.
4. Canvas Crop â An offscreen canvas is created at exactly your target dimensions. drawImage(src, sx, sy, sw, sh, 0, 0, dw, dh) extracts only the selected region.
5. Export â canvas.toBlob() exports the result as PNG, JPG, or WebP. For ZIP downloads, JSZip bundles all results client-side without any server.
