How PDF Rotation Works
PDF rotation doesn't actually move or redraw the content on a page. Instead, it modifies the page's Rotate dictionary entry in the PDF structure. Every PDF page has metadata that tells the viewer how to display its content.
When you rotate a page by 90°, the tool updates this metadata value from 0 to 90 (or 90 to 180, 180 to 270, 270 back to 0). The PDF viewer then renders the same content at the new angle. This is why rotation is lossless — nothing about the actual page content changes.
The tool uses the pdf-lib JavaScript library to parse the PDF structure, modify the rotation values for selected pages, and then serialize the modified PDF back into a downloadable file. The entire operation runs in your browser's memory using the Web APIs, which is why no internet upload is needed.
