How the Calculation Works
This calculator reads your expression and processes it following the standard order of operations, meaning parentheses are solved first, then powers, then multiplication and division, and finally addition and subtraction.
Trigonometric functions depend on the selected mode. When Degree mode is active, angle values are first converted to radians before being processed:
Degrees = Radians à (180 Ãˇ Ī)
Logarithm and natural log use different bases. The log function returns the base-10 logarithm, while ln returns the natural logarithm using base e (approximately 2.71828).
ln(x) = logarithm of x to base e
n! = n à (n-1) à (n-2) à ... à 1
Powers are calculated using the caret symbol, so 2^3 equals 8, and square roots require a non-negative input since negative roots are not real numbers.
